A Water Treatment Plant is the process of improving the physical, chemical, and biological quality of impure or raw water by removing accessible contaminants such as color, turbidity, algae, and other microorganisms to make the water appropriate for drinking without harming the environment. Coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection are some basic water treatment techniques that protect humans from numerous dangerous diseases caused by consuming contaminated water. Both river and groundwater from local wells are merged in the Water Treatment Plant and then transported through the treatment process, involving primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment to meet the government’s water quality criteria.
